Here’s a summary of my experience:
• First job was as a banker; promoted to Manager of small branch at 19 yrs
• Started first business in financial services at 21. Grew it to 629 customers in 4 years, trebled previous bank income twice in that period. Sold business
• Accepted a Sales Management role at AMP. Focus was to recruit, train & retain high performers. Grew team from 20 sales people to 33 over 4 years.
• Also held Sales Management roles in Radio (The Radio Network) and Confectionery distribution (Prolife Foods). Owned a confectionery brokerage business and successfully built a network of 17 independent confectionery distributors across NZ
• Started Coaching & Mentoring professionally in 2003 2-3 days per week.
• Have built a total of 12 business across 8 different industry sectors including several small businesses, an award-winning Franchisor business that grew from a single garage to 19 franchisees across NZ inside 3 years. T/O grew from 0-$3m in 4 years. Also a technology start up that sold software in 55 countries
• IndeCoach is business #13. Piloted in 2012 and officially launched in 2013

Coaching and Mentoring has given me the opportunity (and good fortune) to help many successful business owners unlock more of their potential to achieve bigger things for themselves in business and in their life. That has been a privilege and very satisfying for me.

Here’s some of the relevant background experience I draw on:
• NLP Master Practitioner and Diploma in NLP Training (2000 – 2010)
• Professionally trained as a Coach (COACHU, Auckland 2003)
• Licensed Facilitator of Coaching Skills Training (COACHU, Melbourne 2010)
• Worked closely with more than 120 business owners (6000+ coaching hours)

Typically clients come to me because they want to:
• Set bigger goals and create a plan to make them happen
• Have access to increased experience and resources to get ahead faster
• Have a personal sounding board to add accountability and on-going support
• Be more strategic, more focused and become a better leader
• Build a highly successful business that works well without them
• Step away from their business to design and create their dream life
(and 94% of my clients have come from referrals or personal contacts)

My family is a big part of my focus and I like to spend as much time as I can with them.

Other than that my pastimes include top level sport and concerts, hanging out at the beach, boating, surfing and catching up with close friends and family. I also enjoy the gym, playing drums (badly) and seeing other people recognize their talents and committing themselves to realizing more of their potential.

On this occasion I have identified a problem in that there simply aren't enough good quality business people available as coaches, mentors and advisors for other go ahead business owners. That's because there has been a lack of relevant tools, training, support and a proven business model to make it all work for Independent Coaches and Mentors and their clients.

As a result many experienced business people who would like to work in this area have found it difficult to create a sustainable and successful Coaching or Mentoring business / service and either stop working in the field or make it a part time affair. That doesn't serve anyone well and I hope to change that.

IndeCoach is unique and while we have starting here in NZ, I am confident we will soon see IndeCoach attracting the attention of Independent Coaches, Mentors and Advisors around the world.
